Picking Out Your New
Vehicle:
What is your motivation for picking out a
new vehicle? Is it sporty, fast, efficient, good looking,
luxury, space, whatever it is everybody has different
reasons. Some things you need to consider are the price
or payment, insurance (did you forget about that one)
fuel efficiency, cost of ownership and average number of
passengers.
We all have different needs,
obviously if we have a spouse and 4 kids we will probably
need to consider a van or large SUV. Do you have a brand
preference?
Will it be domestic or import. New or Used.
Ask your self these questions when
starting your quest.
* What is my budget, price first,
then payment. You will be able to figure out your own
payment after going through the recommended process.
* Family and use, amount of passengers,
drivers, space for cargo, # of seats
* Do you ever have to tow a boat or
camper?
* Will it be a daily driver where fuel economy
will be important?
* Is parking important, will you have to park
on the street or in a garage?
* What will insurance cost for a new vehicle versus the old
one?
* Will this vehicle be used for trips or
vacations?
* Do you need a 6 or 8 cylinder engine?
* Do you do a lot of highway driving?
* Automatic or Standard Transmission?
* Do you really need navigation?
* Cloth or leather seats?
* 2 door, 4 door, or more?
There can be many more questions to ask yourself, a visit to a
Auto Show in your area may be a good place to start depending
on the time of year and your area of the country. If not try to
narrow down your choices and make a visit to assorted
dealers and try them out. But not for the Buying Trip, just to narrow down your choice. We
have a list of manufacturers websites
that may help you do some of your
pre-shopping.
